UFC 160: Velasquez finishes Silva early to retain title

Forrest Griffin, the winner of the first season of The Ultimate Fighter and a former UFC Light Heavyweight champ, has announced his retirement from mixed martial arts.Velasquez, an accomplished wrestler, then moved in with a right-armed chokehold and proceeded to unleash seven right-handed punches to Silva's head before referee Mario Yamasaki moved in to stop the UFC 160 main event at MGM Grand Garden ArenaVelasquez (12-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC) dropped the challenger with a short right early on in the first round and then wasted no time basting him with a torrent of follow-up punches as Silva (18-5, 2-2) struggled to regain his bearings.
